AUGUST CUP FINALS START THIS SUNDAY

Weather permitting, August is the month of cup finals, and first up is the Grade 4 Cup at both the Inverdee pitches on Sunday starting at 1pm. The final will follow on after the 2 semi finals that will take place at the same time. The draw opens up the opportunity for the top 2 teams in the league to meet in the final, but the T20 format means that it only needs one player to have an exceptionally good day and the form book can go out the proverbial window.

Grade 4 leaders Granite City meet 3rd Grampian and fellow promotion seekers 3rd Knight Riders (who will make it a clean sweep of cup final appearances for Knight Riders should they progress) will take on a usually youthful 3rd Mannofield.

The Reid Cup final line up will hopefully be completed as Ellon Gordon and Methlick give their semi final a second go at Gordon Park with a 1pm start on Sunday. Strong favourites to complete a league and cup double, Ceylon Deeside, have sat in wait to find out who they will play in the final at Inverurie on Sunday 30th August.

The Reid Cup final will follow on after the Bon Accord Cup final which will start at 12.30pm on the 30th at Inverurie between the current top 2 in Grade 2. 2nd Knight Riders will come up against defending cup holders Aberdeen Tigers, the latter having benefited from opponents scratching and struggling with player eligibility criteria.

The main event of the cup final period is the Aberdeenshire Cup final at Mannofield on Sunday 23rd August with a 1pm start. Knight Riders have won the trophy for the last 3 seasons and, in a repeat of their 2024 success, they will be looking to overcome 2025 Grade 1 winners Bon Accord.
