The 2021 season comes to a conclusion with 2 final league games in Grade 2 and Grade 3. Banchory top the Grade 3 table at the moment after the 2nd Grampian campaign unexpectedly nosedived. The forecast isn’t exactly wall to wall sunshine for Burnett Park, a concern for Mark Herbert and the BBQ plans, and a win or a no result will see Banchory take the title. 2nd Gordonians have improved as the season has gone on, and this has been in large part due to the batting performances of Ryan Davis and Alex Hounsome. Both feature for Gordonians but Umesh Basavaraju is unavailable. A win would hoist Gordonians to 5th place, and whilst Banchory will be looking for a win, 2 bonus points would secure second place.
Having lost 3 of their first 4 games, it looked like another steady but unspectacular season for 2nd Knight Riders in Grade 2, but they have won every league game since the end of June, beating all the other contenders, and find themselves only needing 3 bonus points to finish runners up to Mannofield. The Costa del Broch beckons on Saturday, and a Fraserburgh win would see them leapfrog Portcullis into 4th spot in the league.
