The Eastern Premier League had originally been due to start tomorrow, but with the weather far from conducive to the preparation of grass squares, the opening Saturday fixtures have been rearranged to the end of the season. No SPCU North East Championship games until the 4th of May, so numerous teams are checking the forecast as they hope to squeeze in a friendly.
The 2024 Grades season is scheduled to get underway tomorrow although only 2 games are planned, and they are on the artificial pitches at Harlaw and Rubislaw. With Links withdrawn from availability when the fixtures were prepared, Bon Accord will play their home league fixtures at Harlaw this season. They host Cults with a 1pm start.
The other match is a Grade 2 club derby as 2nd Aberdeen Grammar take on 3rd Aberdeen Grammar at Rubislaw. Aberdeen Grammar is the merged name of AGSFPs and AberGreen, their 1st XI starting their Grade 1 campaign next weekend. The forecast suggests a dry but chilly day, and hopefully the effects of the Friday rain will have dried up to allow the games to go ahead.
