All connected with Ellon Gordon Cricket Club were saddened to hear of the news last Thursday that Neil Allanach, a stalwart of the Club for over 40 years from 1961 to 2003, had died in hospital. Neil was not only a playing member of the Club during that time but he was also a very active member of the Club’s management. He served two terms as President in 1979-81 then again for a longer spell from 1997 until 2007. Most of Neil’s playing career was spent in the second team and for which he will be best remembered. The Club’s thoughts are with his wife Irene and family at this sad time.
